Phillip Maddocks

(NB: To be periodically updated) … last update October 2016

Phillip has been a member of the group since the group was formed in 2006. Making his mark initially at cross-country (XC) with top 10 finishes in the Leicestershire Primary Schools XC League, Phillip first represented Leicestershire at the UK Inter-Counties XC Championships in 2009.

He continued to feature highly in local schools and club competition, gaining county representation at either the UK Inter-Counties XC or the English Schools XC Championships from 2010 to 2013. He was a scoring member of the Leicester Coritanian AC team that won the Midland Counties U15B XC title in 2011. On the track Phillip enjoyed competing at 400m, winning an individual bronze at the County Schools’ Track Championships in 2010.

As Phillip has matured his interests have centred more on road running, winning the U20 title at both the 2014 & 2015 Leicestershire Winter Road Race League. Phillip progressed in 2016 to finish 6th overall in the Senior Men’s category.

His personal bests include: 5k in 16-28; 5M in 27-51; & 10K in 35-49.

A keen cyclist, Phillip has over the past 3-4 years experienced considerable success in local (Leicestershire) Sprint Triathlon events, where he initially dominated in the U20 category, and regularly finished on the overall podium. More recently, Phillip (now in the third year at Loughborough University) has made a considerable impact on the Duathlon scene. He placed 2nd. in the 20-24 Age Group category at the National Duathlon Championships in Windsor Great Park in April, 2016; and secured the title of Leicestershire Duathlon Champion with victory in the Bosworth Autumn Duathlon in October 2016.
